Join us for the San Diego Herpetological Society Monthly Meeting!
We are a passionate team of new and familiar faces, excited to grow our herp community and share our love, awareness, education, and support for reptiles and amphibians.
For August, Wayne Wicoxen will be bringing a variety of very interesting snakes to show and introduce to us.
From Wayne:
I am not a Zoologist or biologist, just a snake enthusiast. I have kept lizards and tarantulas recently, but re-homed them to concentrate on snakes only. I have also recently kept planted freshwater aquariums. Many years ago, I took a herpetology class offered to certain students in junior high school. This experience has stood out in my memory over the years as one of the most important in my life. I'll never forget the entire small class actually going out in the field on herping expeditions. I have been a reptile lover ever since. I build most of my own enclosures from scratch. Other enclosures I build by modifying used furniture. I have always had a way with snakes that I can't explain. Soon after my junior high school herpetology class, I got my first snake. It was an imported baby reticulated python that hissed and tried to bite everything that moved. I didn't know any better, and took him home. I was able to completely tame him to a very high level in a short period of time.
For a living I am a graphic designer. I have designed sports trading cards for the Upper Deck company for over 25 years. I am also an award winning artist.

Mark your calendars!
