Looking to add a new herp to your family?  Please, consider adoption before purchasing an animal.  San Diego Herpetological Society has many wonderful animals available for adoption.  All adoptions require current SDHS membership and the completion of an adoption application and interview.  The adoption application can be completed online and submitted via email.  Click HERE to download the adoption application.  Please print and complete the adoption application and submit it to our adoption coordinator.

Frogs & Toads

Tortoises & Turtles

San Diego Herpetological Society is committed to assisting responsible pet owners in re-homing pets they are no longer able to provide with adequate care.  We accept most reptiles and amphibians through relinquishment.  In order to relinquish an animal please click HERE and complete and submit the online Relinquishment Form then contact us by email or phone to arrange delivery of the animal.  We require animals to be relinquished with supplies including habitat, lighting, heating, food dishes, excess food, etc.  There is a relinquishment fee to help offset necessary veterinary care and to help offset costs of housing, care and advertising.  Relinquishment fees are explained in detail on the form.

Special Note Regarding Iguanas:

Due to the overwhelming number of iguanas that come in to rescue each and every day, we do not have space to take in iguanas at this time.  We will, however, assist you in making a placement.  Please click HERE to download the Placement Assistance form.  Complete it online and email it to us.  We will confirm the placement of your animal on our Adoption page and other resources.
